Responsible Gambling

Football predictions are for information and entertainment. Gambling always involves uncertainty and can cause financial, emotional and relationship harm. If you choose to bet, decide your limits in advance and seek support if it stops feeling manageable.

You are in control of whether you bet. You can stop, take a break or ask for help at any time.

Gambling is a choice, not a way to make money

No prediction, tip, statistic or past result can guarantee what will happen in a match. A win is never certain, and losses are possible every time you bet. Do not treat betting as income, a solution to debt or a way to recover money you have lost.

If you decide to bet, set boundaries

  • Only take part if you are legally old enough and betting is lawful where you are.
  • Set a spending limit and a time limit before you begin, and stop when you reach either one.
  • Only use money you can afford to lose. Do not borrow, use credit, or use money intended for essentials.
  • Never chase losses or increase a stake because a prediction sounds confident.
  • Avoid betting when you feel distressed, pressured, impaired or unable to make a clear decision.
  • Take regular breaks and keep time for interests and relationships outside betting.

Recognize when gambling may be causing harm

Consider pausing and seeking help if you find yourself spending more time or money than planned, hiding or lying about betting, borrowing to gamble, chasing losses, or feeling anxious or irritable when you try to stop. Gambling can also affect sleep, work, study, finances and relationships.

You do not need to wait until things feel severe to ask for help. Speaking with someone you trust or a qualified support professional can be a useful first step.

Take a break and use available tools

If you are concerned, stop betting for now and consider blocking access to betting sites or payment methods used for gambling. Licensed betting providers may offer deposit, loss or time limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. Contact the provider directly to ask which tools are available where you live.

If you have self-excluded from a provider, do not try to get around that restriction by opening another account or using someone else’s account.

Support for you or someone close to you

Look for a recognized gambling-harm support organization, health professional or counseling service in your country or region. Availability and services differ by location. If gambling has created urgent financial or personal safety concerns, contact appropriate local support services.

If you are worried about another person, speak with them calmly, focus on what you have noticed and encourage them to seek confidential support. You can seek support for yourself, too.
